PRESIDENT ADDRESS TO MEMBERS

Tirupur Information Technology Association - New Team Installation Ceremony - 8th April 2011 at Hotel Poppys, Tirupur - Avinashi Road.

President Address to the members.

Why association? What is the benefit of the association? Some members see association as an activity by those who do not have work done for those who do not have work.

Benefits and why we need an Association ?

1. Association is a place where there is no differentiation based on caste,language, religion or party. Everyone is treated as equal and every member can express their opinion.
2. Knowledge: We did not have any technical presentations from vendors in our town before the formation of TITA. Only after that, we have regular vendor channel meets in our town. Before that only a select few will get information about meets happening in Coimbatore.
3. TITA EXPO before that we have very few members participating in expo meant for Garment industry. Only after conducting TITA expo, majority of our people get convinced that we have so many dealers in our town and we need not depend on other cities.
4. Insurance: we at times think that we need to have employee welfare schemes but fail to take action. Because of a noble and whole hearted work by Babu, we got all our members and their employees insured against personal accidents three years back. Inspired by this scheme, Mr.Karthik, the then confed president announced the scheme of free insurance for all confed members.
5. Unity: before formation of association there was no communication or unity among members. Now, even if one customer is defaulted, all others are alerted. A laptop lost in some city is getting recovered in another city, thanks to confed mail group wherein all members alerted on any fraudulent activity. We also get cautioned in future dealings.
6. Balance life: all our life need balance against work, family, physical activity and fun
   • All work and no play makes life dull

   • We all have a family and they expect your quality time to be spent with them
   • Beyond certain point, just money and work will cease to bring in happiness
   • You should be ready to establish fruitful relationship with others in the society
   • You should pay back some of the earnings to the under privileged which will intern bring in happiness.
   • Association can be a platform to mix with people and help others.

GOALS FOR THE YEAR- to give broad direction on the way we plan to go.

1. Members will get chance to prove their extracurricular skills like speaking, jokes, health tips , singing, etc.

1. During july 2011, we will get it done
4. Family get together.
1. Quite a success for past two years we will continue it.
5. SPORTS:
1. We will have cricket match within our members like last year, which was an outstanding success.
2. We will also have matches between tita and neighboring association.
3. We can also include other sports also.
4. We request confed president to explore the possibility of confed cup for cricket.
6. Social Activity
1. Like I previously said, we should plan to give back how so ever small to the society to help the underprivileged.
2. I propose a contribution by willing members of Re1 per day i.e., 365 rupees per member which will get us around 35000 which can be used as charity fund to organize regular social welfare activities with the help of a social welfare committee headed by Mr.Ravichandran, our founder president.
7. Insurance will be continued and can be renewed in time.
8. We can try to have a primary health check up for our members after discussion in future meetings.
9. We will conduct regular EC meetings at least a week before every month general body meeting to plan and execute our goals.
10. We will strive to report our financial status at the end of every general body meeting starting May 2011.

PRICE UNIFORMITY

Many members have asked for implementing a uniform price code for the products. I beg to differ in this. You should understand that all of us are not same. Though we sell almost similar products, we all have our own individuality.

A laptop with the same core i3/3/320/dvd/webcam/bt/cc is sold at different prices by different vendors. Why? Brand image. Try to build store image for yourselves. You may sell the same brand and product but your service is different.

Take for example tea shop:  tea price is different in road side tea shop, KR BAKERY  orannapoorna hotel. Difference in price is due to quality, ambience etc.

Bus service: normal bus, point to point, தாழ்தள பேருந்து

• Some may keep very low margin, and will charge separately for services, or leave the support problems to be taken care between vendor and customer.
• Some may keep good margin and travel that extra mile to get all the services organized to the customer.
• Some may discount prices based on quantity.

Even if you have difficulty in convincing your customer on pricing, you may ask the customer to buy elsewhere and just charge for the services you may render.

This could be a win-win situation. The customer is happy that he has bought at the best price and you are relieved of payment pressures. Problem arises only when you match prices of the distributor and extra mile services.

This is for your thought and nothing to hurt you.
